We had a great time in Vietnam and I highly encourage you all to visit this little country. The people were very friendly, the food was excellent (we love vietnamese food anyway), and the service we recieved was super.
Ho Chi Min City was wild!! We visited the war memorial museum, not a place for children, then headed to the main square to check out the post office and Notre Dame church. The post office was something out of an old movie. Very old fashioned and picturesque...ok, what I consider old school large sity post office. It was a bit warm but still interesting.
We then headed to back toward the hotel and ran into some local women selling fresh pancakes and madelines on the street. One of the women was kind enough to let me take a picture of her while her daughter tried to part Larry from his money. They are in the background walking away...

Shopping in Vietnam was alot of fun!! If you like to haggle over prices and get the best deal possible. The market here is full of pirated or copy items. We purchased a $5.00 watch for Jordan, not a copy watch, and were offered Rolex copy watches for $10.00. Oh...that reminds me! They LOVE American money!!! We took a taxi to the market and my dad tried to pay with local currency, the cab driver saw the US dollars and refused the Vietnamese dollars and insisted on US dollars! Here is a picture of the market. It is just a small snapshot of how large and crazy it can be.
Imagine rows and rows of people and products!
