It's Halloween! It really doesn't feel like Halloween here in Singapore. It's a nice balmy 85ish, oh well. Jordan's school celebrated the holiday in a big way. All the kids were allowed to either bring a costume or wear their costumes to school. Very different from the US!! Then at 1:30 they had a costume parade around the building and a party in the classrooms. The kids played games, made a couple of crafts and had lots of snacks.
Here is Jordan (he is the all black ninja) coming back from the parade; Ms. Eide his teacher was dressed like a student...

After school the mad rush was on...
Larry missed Halloween again! I think this is the 3rd year in a row so as he was going to the airport, I was frantically trying to carve the pumpkin, get Jordan dressed, make a few goodie bags and fix some dinner. Well, we got it all done and then headed to a friends house to trick or treat.
Getting ready...

Here is the crew ready to go...
Ok, so in the states we go door to door on Halloween with our children so that they can get gobs of candy. Well, in Singapore here's how you do it...
First, you have to sign up with the complex managment to trick or treat. Hopefully you will have some participation from the locals and other non-yank expats. Once you have signed up, they send out a list to the families who want to participate indicating which homes you can visit. Now here is where it gets wild...
You don't go door to door on a nice cool street! You walk through the parking garage from lift to lift, punching in codes so that the apartments will ring you up in the elevator. It is crazy! But, the kids all said they had a great time and one even said it was the best Halloween ever!
The kids getting into the lift...
The kids trudging through the garage...
They are FINISHED! Literally, they were asking if we were done!!
We had alot of fun hanging out with friends and experiencing our first overseas halloween.
Oh, Morgan the little girl in the picture just loves Jordan! She was hugging him all night and following him...Jordan was not at all interested in a little girl following him!!
